North Andhra Coastal Evangelizing Association (NACEA) plans to add an in-patient facility to the Christian Medical Center in Machilipatnam, India. Recently the Board of Directors of the Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism (FAME) announced that they were beginning to raise funds to enable construction to begin on the second floor in-patient facility. NACEA was established in 1997 as a not-for-profit Christian Organization. The first church in the area was built by Mrs. Alice in the memory of her husband, the late Mr. Devadanam Tella in 1985. They are the late parents of T.B. Paul. A plot of land which belonged to them was donated for a greater purpose which they did not know at that time. Today a hospital stands on that premises catering to the health care needs of many small communities around the town of Machilipatnam. The hospital professes the love of Christ for people across religions, castes, creed and colors. The banner of the hospital is ‘BY HIS WOUNDS, YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED’ and the motto is ‘WE TREAT, GOD HEALS’. The Christian Medical Center was later christened as Tella Devadanam and Alice Memorial Christian Medical Center, honoring the lives of the late Mr. Devadanam and Mrs. Alice Tella for their dedication to the church and their early pioneering work which laid the foundation for NACEA.

FAME helped build the first floor of the hospital mainly comprising of the out-patient facility and the lab and Operation rooms. Temporary arrangements for admitting in-patients are being made in the nursing school rooms, to which the Hancock Caring Partners located in Greenfield, Indiana accepted. The nursing school was built with their help to train young ladies from the villages and the Children’s home of NACEA so that they can find jobs and lead a better life and to help their local communities which have no doctors. The Nursing School is in the process of acquiring the proper certifications to begin and will be located in an existing second floor area until the inpatient facility is finished.

Upon receipt of initial funds from FAME, construction will begin on the second floor inpatient facility. This new area will add a total of 55 beds to the hospital. The proposal is to build the second floor in 3 Phases. The first phase will add 4184 sq. ft. of floor space which will house 23 patients in 3 wards. The second phase will provide 3690 sq. ft., giving the hospital two more wards and 5 semi-private rooms, 23 additional beds. After this phase separate medicine and surgery wards will be designated as well as a separate maternity ward for mothers to create a clean place for new born babies. The third phase will consist of 3372 sq. ft. that will add 9 rooms that can be either private or semi-private.

In April of 2016, the CMC will begin accepting in-patients. This will be a great help to the poor villagers in the Machilipatnam area. Thirteen beds will be available for use in April, with additional beds made available as funds are received for the second floor addition. NACEA has teamed with FAME to raise funds for this much needed addition. Go to FAMEworld.org to help with this project.

Village Medical Clinics

On January 18th the first NACEA Village Medical Clinic was dedicated in the village of Pedapatnam. This building was purchased with funds donated from the Exodus Church for Bloomington located in Bloomington, Indiana. The goal is to establish Medical Clinics in each village that NACEA has an established church. A trained nurse will be placed in each of these centers. She will be trained to handle minor ailments under the guidance of the doctors in the CMC and will refer the patients to the CMC if required. These nurses will also teach medical awareness programs under the supervision of the CMC doctors. Having a Christian background and foundation, they will also pray for the sick that come and encourage the people to have faith in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ. This will be an effective way to share the love of Christ among the Hindu women.

Oberst Christian Academy Expansion

Eight new classrooms including a computer lab and a science lab were dedicated in January by the Short Term Mission Trip (STMT) team. The Kindergarten classes will be relocated to the new first floor rooms when the next school year begins in June. It is expected that the number of students in the school will double from the current enrollment of 270 for the next school term as word spreads about the excellence of the school.

To meet this need, 80 School–desks seating 3 students each are needed at a cost of $125 per desk. Also needed is equipment for the computer lab (12 computers @ $250 each) and science lab ($1000).

International Conference on Missions

The ICOM is being held in Lexington, Kentucky at the Convention Center from Thursday, November 17 through Sunday, November 20. NACEA will at booths 1909 and 1911. T.B. & Rani Paul plan to be at the booth to meet with you and discuss all the great work going on in Andhra Pradesh, India. Please plan to attend! The theme this year is “MOBILIZE: Disciples Making Disciples”. The ICOM president states “Jesus said, “Go and make disciples.” Yet too often the message we communicate to seekers of Christ is to “come and hear.” This strategy has not been as successful as we had hoped, so we need to go back to the biblical blueprint and base our efforts on the model of Jesus. We need to take the time to make disciples who can teach others how to make other disciples.”

T.B. and Rani will be in country from mid-October through December 6th. To date, they are scheduled to be in Indiana at Shoals Christian Church on Sunday morning, October 16th and Bethany Christian Church on Sunday, November 27th. Please contact Mike Harker at mikeharker@frontier.com or 812-247-3143 if you would like to have them at your church during their visit.

<![CDATA[A True Mission]]>Tue, 23 Sep 2014 20:46:53 GMThttp://naceamission.org/blog/a-true-missionPictureT.B. Paul & Luke Bean
It is always a challenge for the mission to work among the poor and needy. For every occasion people look at the Mission to some kind of help. The effectiveness of the Mission work many times depends on how effectively we take up the rehabilitative programs especially among the Hindus. They always expect God’s love in action. Some kind help makes them to be assured that God is and He takes care of His children. This strengthens their faith both in God and in the ministry of the mission. Thus the Mission becomes the part of the communities and the lives of the people. The Mission work is truly challenging, especially along the coastal villages of Andhra Pradesh, where we often face cyclones, Tidal waves, Tsunamis and heavy rainfalls due to depression in the Bay of Bengal destroying everything in its path, which affects the lives of many people. Destruction by natural calamities and relief and rehabilitation programs have almost become like a cycle in the lives of the people. The Mission needs to be prepared to face such challenges, to become more effective and meaningful in the lives of the people to witness Christ.

I am happy to say that IDES has taken up such a challenging ministry and enabling the Missions to be more meaningful in the lives of the people. This is true, especially with NACEA, among these Hindu villages. Through the help, we are able to reach two more villages which is also strengthening the existing congregations. The people are so encouraged that they have come up with a piece of land to build a church building. Now the construction is in process with the help sent by the NACEA’s Board.

We thank God for this achievement and thank IDES for this meaningful support. We also thank our Board for their greater vision for the Mission work. With the help received, we have distributed Rice; Dal; Sugar; Oil; and Cloths to 3000 families in 25 villages. Though it is a small help for the families, it has become more effective building the confidence and faith among the people that God takes care of His children. We are able to see smiling and thankful faces as we distributed the help. This help enabled the families to take of their needs at least for a few days. It is more meaningful and effective because it is a timely help. We hear people saying, “This is the Mission, a Mission of Christ”, a true Mission work.

We thank IDES for making NACEA a true Mission. We also thank our Board for their true vision.

T.B. Paul, NACEA Field Director

<![CDATA[Children's Home working Hand-in-Hand with New School]]>Tue, 23 Sep 2014 20:34:24 GMThttp://naceamission.org/blog/childrens-home-working-hand-in-hand-with-new-schoolPictureNgasomi & Krystal
The Christian Children’s Home is working hand-in hand with the Oberst Christian Academy to change the lives of many children in India. While our team was in India this past January, we had the opportunity to work with the children who reside in the Children’s Home and attend the Academy. We spent several days at the Academy; telling stories, teaching (and learning) songs, and playing games with the children. We were also honored to be a part of their Republic Day Celebration at the Academy.

Having been to India in February 2012, this trip gave me the opportunity to see how many of the children had grown and matured. It was a pleasure getting to see them again and I praise God for the work He has done in them. One little boy stood out to me; his name is Ngasomi. He had only been in the Children’s Home a few months and was still going through the transition period. At that time, he mostly kept to himself; he would follow our team around but would rarely interact with us. You could see anger and sadness in his eyes.

When I saw him in January, it was like seeing a completely new child. Ngasomi now actively participates in the worship services (singing and dancing), helps in leading morning songs at the school, and has a group of friends within the Children’s Home. He even helped our team with the David and Goliath skit (both at the school and church). When you look at him now, you can see happiness.

I thank God for the Paul family, who serve God by serving these children. They actively show them Christ’s love every single day; they live Christ’s commission. It is because of their service that the lives of these children are being changed.

<![CDATA[Mission Trips - How NACEA Teams are impacting the world]]>Tue, 23 Sep 2014 20:09:06 GMThttp://naceamission.org/blog/mission-trips-how-nacea-teams-are-impacting-the-worldEqual Passion, Equal Responsibility

I was leaving for India in less than a week. My visa application was still on the desk of
the Consulate in Chicago and I had resigned myself to the fact that I wasn’t going to be seeing TB Paul anytime soon. Several weeks prior to my trip, other individuals were struggling in getting their visas approved and I felt that mine was going to be a problem as well. Needless to say I was struggling with the idea that God was in control and I needed to relax. Looking back, I now understand that I had nothing to worry about when it came to God calling a person to a short-term mission trip. When God calls, He provides... perfectly.

This past February proved to be an amazing opportunity to see God moving in amazing ways that I had never experienced or imagined. I was able to spend a total of three weeks with TB Paul and observe the ministry that is taking place through NACEA. I have known TB and his family for a few years.
They use all available opportunities to present the gospel to those that do not know Jesus Christ. Everything they do is centered on helping people to know spiritual truth. They have a deep passion to reach the Hindu people. We should be inspired to have that same passion for our communities as well. I realized that in many ways I lacked that same level of passion for my community. We must share in and equal passion and be inspired by TB Paul and his family to do whatever it takes to reach lost people with the gospel.

Our churches place a tremendous amount of time and resources toward our ministry efforts here in the states. We often view missions as something we put a few dollars toward and never give much thought about the needs of churches throughout the world. We should understand that we have equal responsibility to make disciples of all nations. That responsibility goes far beyond our money. We may not travel to Machilipatnam, India, but our responsibility to empower and equip our brothers and sisters in Christ in other parts of the world is critical.

I would like to challenge everyone that currently supports NACEA to share the vision of TB Paul and his family with others. In doing so, there may be those that are able to share in the responsibility and passion to proclaim the gospel to the people of India. In order for this culture to be transformed by the Christ, it’s going to take more churches and individuals to be passionate about the work NACEA is doing.

In the near future I hope to take my wife and son back to India. I’m excited to show them all that TB Paul and his family are doing for the people in their community.

Our two families serving together will be a wonderful experience. I guess I better get our visa applications sent off now. I’m praying I can relax and know that God has all the details covered... in His time.
